By the Limfjord in Thisted, beer has been brewed since 1902, and Limfjordsporter is one of the brewery's most distinctive takes on the dark, smoky side of Danish brewing craft.
Expert description of Thisted Bryghus Limfjordsporter
Limfjordsporter from Thisted Bryghus is an almost black bottom-fermented porter with a creamy light-brown head. The brewery, one of Denmark's oldest and most forward-thinking, combines traditional porter brewing with a distinct smoky character in this beer, adding an extra dimension beyond the typical roasted malt profile.
The taste is wonderfully complex, dominated by liquorice, smoke, roasted barley and malt sweetness, nicely balanced by a pronounced hop bitterness. It is a porter with substance, built for slow enjoyment and ideally paired with hearty winter dishes.
