Thirteen years in the making, with the final stretch spent alongside one of sherry's most intense expressions - Pedro Ximenez has darkened both glass and palate on this single cask Teaninich.

    Expert description

Teaninich 2011/2024 Coopers Choice is a 13 year old Highland Single Malt Whisky at 51%, bottled from a single cask (cask no. #711942) by independent bottler The Coopers Choice.

The whisky finished its maturation in a used Pedro Ximenez sherry cask - a Spanish fortified wine known for its intense sweetness and dark colour, which here adds depth and a rich, dried fruit structure on top of Teaninich's light base character.

Distilled in 2011 and bottled in 2024 after 13 years of maturation, the whisky is non-chill filtered and naturally coloured. 348 bottles of this single cask edition were released.

    Tasting notes

    Nose

Dark treacle and dried fig, spiced with a hint of clove and toasted almonds.

    Palate

Full and sweet, with notes of raisin, liquorice and dark chocolate, carried on a pleasant warmth.

    Finish

Long, sweet and lightly bitter towards the end, closing on a last trace of dried fig seeds.
