Italy's amaretto tradition dates back several hundred years and typically relies on extract of bitter almonds or apricot kernels, which gives the liqueur its characteristic marzipan-like aroma. Strega Amaretto comes from Strega Alberti Benevento S.p.A., the house that has made the famous saffron-yellow herbal liqueur Strega since 1860, bringing the same craftsmanship to the classic Italian almond liqueur.
