Spirited Union Spice and Sea Salt is a botanical Rum based on Caribbean rum from Barbados, infused with five selected botanicals and bottled at 41%.

The Dutch spirits house Spirited Union builds its botanical rums on a principle borrowed from the world of gin: a rum base is infused with a handful of carefully chosen botanicals rather than a single flavouring. In the Spice and Sea Salt expression, Guatemalan cardamom, Madagascan clove and vanilla, and Peruvian cacao meet organic Anana salt from a seabed millions of years old, giving the rum a character that is at once sweet, spiced and salted.

Tasting notes

Nose

Mellow warmth of spice and fruity molasses, complemented by tropical fruit, bright spices, cocoa powder and cardamom.

Palate

Harmonious blend of sweetness, spice and salt, opening with citrus and floral tones before moving into rich vanilla, fragrant spice and a subtly nutty close.

Finish

Round and spiced with a pronounced but well-judged salinity from the sea salt tying it all together.
