Sipsmith London Dry Gin is an English London Dry Gin, bottled at 41.6%.

The gin is built on ten carefully selected botanicals: Macedonian juniper berries, Bulgarian coriander seed, French angelica root, Spanish liquorice root, Italian orris root, Spanish ground almond, Chinese cassia bark, Madagascan cinnamon, Sevillian orange peel and Spanish lemon peel.

The fight to open the distillery had significance far beyond Sipsmith itself, paving the way for the entire modern British craft gin movement.

The recipe combines traditional copper pot distillation with a composition that wouldn't look unfamiliar to an 18th-century master distiller.

Tasting notes

Nose

The nose has floral, summer meadow notes, followed by mellow rounded juniper and zesty, citrus freshness.

Palate

The palate is led by dry juniper, then reveals lemon tart and orange marmalade, before all the flavours harmonise.

Finish

The finish is kept in check by cinnamon sugar, woody root notes and almonds.
