"Uno, dos, tres" is the ritual for drinking a Sierra Silver: salt on the back of the hand, a quick shot, and finally a slice of lemon. That has been the sound of parties worldwide ever since the distillery in Guadalajara sent out its first bottle in 1981.
Expert Description
Sierra Silver Mexican Tequila is a Blanco Tequila, also known internationally as Silver, bottled at 38%.
The tequila comes from Destilerías Sierra Unidas in Guadalajara, Jalisco, where the Sierra family, now in its fourth generation, distils from blue Weber agave grown in the mineral-rich soil around the city. After two distillations in traditional pot stills, the tequila rests for a couple of weeks in steel tanks to settle before being bottled crystal clear, with no barrel ageing at all. The agave content sits at around 85%, well above the legal minimum of 51%.
