High in the Guatemalan highlands, where Ron Zacapa's casks rest among herb gardens at 2,300 metres, master blender Lorena Vasquez put her stamp on the second release in the brand's annual series of luxury vintage editions.

    Expert Description

Ron Zacapa Reserva 2014 Limitada is a Guatemala Rum, a blend of reserve rums aged between 6 and 24 years, bottled at 45%.

The rum is released by Ron Zacapa, known for its Solera system and for ageing its casks high in the Guatemalan mountains, where the cool temperature slows evaporation and extends maturation. Reserva Limitada 2014 was the second release in a new annual series of luxury vintage editions, hand-selected by master blender Lorena Vasquez and released in limited quantities. The casks included in the blend spent two years in a high-altitude herb garden environment before being blended into the final composition of rum aged from 6 to 24 years.

The result is a mild, sweet rum, where toffee and vanilla meet a lightly toasted, rounded finish.
