Ambar is the lighter, more accessible side of Zacapa, made to introduce Guatemalan Solera craft without overwhelming.
Expert description
Ron Zacapa Ambar 12 Solera Reserva is a Ron de Guatemala matured in a Sistema Solera and bottled at 40%.
The rum is produced in the Guatemalan highlands at altitudes of up to 2,300 metres, where the cool climate slows evaporation and allows a gentler, slower maturation than in many other rum-producing countries. The Ambar expression is composed as a lighter, fresher and fruitier variant of the house style compared to the darker, heavier Centenario releases, and is sold here in a 100 cl bottle.

Did you know?
Zacapa's rum isn't matured at sea level like most other Caribbean rums, but in the Guatemalan highlands, where a phenomenon called "the Angel's Share above the Clouds" means the casks lose less alcohol to evaporation than in the warmer tropical lowlands.
