Ron Colon Salvadoreno High Proof Aged Rum is an El Salvador Rum, a blend assembled by Ron Colon Salvadoreno and bottled at 55.5%.
The blend unites three components: a column-distilled rum aged 6 years from Licorera Cihuatán in El Salvador, an unaged Jamaican pot-still rum and a 3-year-old Jamaican rum, the latter two both from the renowned Worthy Park and Hampden distilleries. Ron Colon was founded in 2018 by two friends who, after a 22-day bar-hopping trip across 16 Latin American countries, decided to create their own rum brand, and the High Proof edition won a gold medal at a competition in San Francisco.
The style is rich and powerful, where the Salvadoran rum's tropical fruitiness meets the Jamaican rum's funky, smoky intensity.
