From the southern tip of Barbados's Foursquare distillery, RomDeLuxe selects a single cask left to mature for 17 years, long enough for Barbados rum's classic round sweetness to gain extra depth.
Expert Description
RomDeLuxe Collectors Series Rum #14 Barbados Single Cask is a Barbados Rum, distilled at the Foursquare distillery in 2005 and aged 17 years in a single cask, bottled at 57.9%.
RomDeLuxe is a Danish bottling house founded by Claus Andersen, Kim Pedersen and Michael Ginnerup, who travel the world seeking the best single casks from renowned distilleries. Collectors Series is the house's flagship series, known for labels and boxes adorned with animal motifs, and this release comes from cask number 92. The 17 years spent in Barbados's tropical climate have given the rum a depth and complexity that sets it apart from the younger Foursquare releases in RomDeLuxe's range.
The result is a well-balanced, full-bodied rum where Foursquare's classic style meets the extra depth only long tropical ageing can provide.
