Riedel Winewings Riesling 1234/15 is a machine-blown white wine glass from the Austrian glassmaker Riedel, shaped with a broad, wing-like bowl engineered for aromatic, high-acid grapes such as Riesling.
Riedel has been making glass since 1756, and the family business is now run by its 11th generation of glassmakers and designers. Winewings is a rethink of the classic bowl shape, stretched outward instead of upward. The broad surface gives an aromatic white like Riesling more room to develop its bouquet in the glass, without letting the sharp acidity take over.
Design & Material
The glass is made from clear crystal glass with a thin, delicate rim that makes it pleasant to drink from. The wide, wing-shaped bowl is the glass's signature feature, built to give the aromas room, while the slender stem keeps your hand away from the bowl so the wine stays cool for longer.
Use & Recommendation
