The whisky gets company from ice, soda, or tonic, and the glass needs to hold it all without drowning out the aromas. Riedel Fire Longdrink is the taller version of the Fire tumbler, built for exactly that kind of drink.
The Expert’s Description
Riedel Fire Longdrink Tumbler is a stemless glass from the Tumbler Collection by the Austrian glassmaker Riedel, made from machine-blown crystal glass as the tall companion to the Fire Whisky Tumbler, intended for whisky-based long drinks.
The glass shares its shape family with the Fire Whisky Tumbler, but is stretched taller to 115 mm to leave room for ice and a mixer. If you are building a whisky highball, you will find a broad range of bottles under Whisky.
Design & Material
The wide, rounded body from the Fire family is kept, but the glass is stretched upward to leave room for ice cubes and a good measure of soda or ginger ale on top of the whisky. The crystal glass is machine-blown and just as thin-walled and light as its shorter sibling.
Use & Recommendation
Fire Longdrink is designed for whisky mixed with ice and a mixer, such as a classic highball, but also works well for other long drinks. The glass is dishwasher safe and holds up to everyday use without issue.

Did You Know?
Did you know Georg Riedel created the Vinum series in 1986, the first machine-blown glass series to match the quality of hand-blown glass? That same idea, that technique and quality do not have to be at odds, carries through into the Tumbler Collection.
