Rebel Yell 100 Proof Cabernet Sauvignon Barrels Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey is the brand's wheated bourbon finished in cabernet sauvignon barrels, bottled at 50%. Rebel Yell was created in 1936 by Louisville's then-mayor Charles R. Farnsley to mark the 100th anniversary of the original Weller brand, with roots back to the Stitzel-Weller distillery of 1849. From the start, the brand used a wheated mash bill, giving it a softer, rounder character than a typical rye-based bourbon. After Stitzel-Weller closed in the early 1970s, the brand was acquired by Luxco, and since 2018 Rebel Yell has been distilled at the family's own distillery, Lux Row Distillers, in Bardstown, Kentucky.
