Planteray Isle of Fiji is a Fijian Rum matured in two stages and bottled at 40%.

The rum first matures in Fiji's tropical climate in bourbon casks, before being shipped to southwest France for a second maturation period in French casks. This double maturation, a hallmark of the Planteray range, gives the rum its characteristic balance of tropical fruitiness and European cask complexity. In 2020, the rum was awarded 98 points and the Best Aged Rum title at the Ultimate Spirits Challenge.

Tasting Notes

Nose

Intense with molasses, pear and varnish, developing into apple, banana and gooseberry, complemented by nutmeg, vanilla and a hint of smoke.

Palate

Rich and round with vanilla fudge, honey, ginger and fruity notes of prune and coconut.

Finish

Very long with dried banana, bourbon and allspice.
