In 2009, two world-famous bartenders sat down with a Maestro Tequilero in the highlands of Jalisco to make tequila the old-fashioned way, without shortcuts. The result was Olmeca Altos — and the Reposado expression has since grown into the house’s most awarded bottle.

Olmeca Altos Reposado is a Mexican 100% Agave Reposado Tequila aged 6 to 8 months in used bourbon oak barrels at 38% ABV.

The Altos range was created by two internationally renowned bartenders together with a Maestro Tequilero who insisted on following traditional methods to the letter. The agave is grown in the Los Altos highlands of Jalisco, hand-harvested and slow-roasted in brick ovens before being distilled in copper stills. Unlike Olmeca Silver and Reposado, the Altos range is made entirely from blue agave with no added sugar syrup, and the Reposado expression has won a long list of medals at international spirits competitions since its launch.
