Octomore 16.1 is an uncompromising Islay single malt whisky that marks the beginning of the 16th series from Bruichladdich Distillery – a series known for pushing the boundaries of peat smoke, strength, and terroir. This edition is distilled from 100% Scottish Concerto barley and has a peat level of 101.4 PPM, placing it firmly within the Octomore tradition as one of the world’s most heavily peated whiskies.

The whisky is matured for five years in first-fill American bourbon barrels, giving it a deep and rounded character despite its young age. It is bottled at 59.3% ABV, preserving its raw power and complexity. The combination of intense peat smoke and bourbon maturation creates a balanced and sophisticated flavor profile that both challenges and rewards the experienced whisky enthusiast.

On the nose, there is intense peat smoke alongside sweet notes of vanilla, coconut, honeydew melon, and apricot. A mineral freshness adds depth and contrast.
