In Arandas, the fields sit side by side, yet each patch of soil tells its own story. At San Jeronimo it's rust-red and rich in iron, and that quietly works its way into every agave grown there.

    Expert Description

OCHO San Jeronimo 100% Agave Single Estate Blanco Tequila is a Mexican Blanco Tequila made from 100% agave and bottled at 40%.

The tequila comes from the La Alteña distillery in Arandas, Jalisco, where the Camarena family, together with European spirits expert Tomás Estes, has distilled OCHO since 2007 as the world's first single estate tequila. The entire batch comes from this one field, San Jeronimo, known for its rust-red, iron-rich soil, which leaves a clear mark on the tequila's character.

Frequently Asked Questions about OCHO San Jeronimo Blanco Tequila

What does "Single Estate" mean at OCHO?

It means the entire batch's agave comes from one specific field — in this case San Jeronimo — so the flavour reflects that soil's character directly.

What does OCHO San Jeronimo Blanco taste like?

Full and mineral-driven, with cooked agave, honey, herbs and a touch of white pepper, backed by San Jeronimo's rust-red, iron-rich soil.

Does the flavour change from year to year?

Yes, OCHO deliberately highlights terroir variation, so each vintage from San Jeronimo carries its own character even though the process stays the same.

    Who is behind OCHO Tequila?

The Camarena family, together with European spirits expert Tomás Estes, who distil at La Alteña in Arandas, Jalisco.

How is OCHO San Jeronimo Blanco best enjoyed?

Neat in a small tulip glass at room temperature, so the aromas from the field's soil can unfold — but it also works well in a Margarita.

Is OCHO San Jeronimo a 100% agave tequila?

Yes, it's distilled purely from blue agave with no added cane sugar spirit.
