Christmas is approaching, and Danish Thy Whisky has been working hard to get the last bottling of the year ready for Danish whisky lovers. It is finally ready and has been named Thy Whisky no 20 - Maltmod. The twentieth "major" single malt bottling since they released their first whisky in 2014.

The whisky will be released for sale on Thursday, December 1, 2022 at 20:00 and will be called Thy Whisky No 20 Maltmod and is a single malt whisky shaped and created by experiments in Thy Whisky's own maltings. It is characterized by a rich and alluring aroma of caramel, which stems from experiments in their maltings with dark 'caramel malts', which otherwise hardly ever find their way into traditional whisky production. The intense 'Cara' new make has been aged in 12 small bourbon octaves (50 liters), then larger bourbon casks and is ultimately blended with two oloroso casks, which have then been given time to accumulate time in the barrels. The result is a whisky with great vanilla sweetness and intense burnt caramel with underlying fruit notes. On the nose, there are notes of leather and cedar with a faint hint of tobacco. The taste starts with sweet vanilla toffee, nougat and a little pickled fruit and ends in burnt caramel with a hint of cloves and oak.
