Mount Gay It is produced from sugar cane grown on Mount Gay's own plantation and water from the underground spring that runs beneath the plantation. After 72 hours of fermentation of sugar cane and water in the finest oak barrels, Mount Gay is double distilled, like cognac, in copper pot stills. Finally, Mount Gay is aged in original Kentucky Bourbon white oak barrels, giving Mount Gay its distinctive golden color with a slightly smoky, rounded flavor.
