Martin Miller wanted to create a gin that broke with the heavy, juniper-dominated style of the time, and found the answer in an unusual combination: English craftsmanship and Icelandic spring water.
Expert's description
Martin Miller's Premium London Dry Gin is an English London Dry Gin distilled at Langley Distillery and bottled at 40%.
The gin launched in 1999, created by Martin Miller together with friends David Bromige and Andreas Versteegh, who helped pioneer a new era for premium gin.
Ten botanicals go into the recipe, with spices and earthy botanicals distilled separately from the citrus peels, and the two distillates are then blended together with an added cucumber distillate.
Finally, the gin is brought down in strength with extra-pure Icelandic spring water, drawn from a fjord on Iceland's west coast and blended in the village of Borgarnes, giving the gin its signature purity.
