Malfy Gin Originale is an Italian gin from Torino Distillati, bottled at 41%.
The gin is built on wild Italian juniper and coriander, supplemented by five further botanicals, including citrus, cassia bark and angelica.
The gin was launched in early 2018 and is distilled at Torino Distillati just outside Turin in Moncalieri.
The water used to bring the gin down to bottling strength is drawn from the Monviso mountains at the village of Crissolo.
Tasting notes
Nose
The nose offers a subtle and complex blend of citrus that melds with notes of juniper and coriander.
Palate
The palate is smooth and rounded, where sweetness and acidity meet in fine harmony, with spicy coriander, liquorice, anise, bright and bittersweet juniper, citrus rind and cinnamon.
Finish
The finish carries fresh citrus zest and a lightly sweet, bittersweet juniper character.
