In Kagerup in North Zealand sits Thornæs Distillery, named in honour of the owl that lived in the attic before the distillery moved in. The Mad Owl range is their take on handcrafted Danish gin in several flavours.

Mad Owl Citrus is a Danish gin based on organic grain spirit and spiced with citrus botanicals, bottled at 46%.

The gin comes from Thornæs Distillery in Kagerup, which makes all its spirits in a traditional style, with botanicals processed directly in the still. The Citrus edition builds on a classic juniper base with a pronounced citrus layer, giving the gin a fresh, lightly bitter character.

The name Mad Owl pays tribute to the owl that lived in the distillery's attic before the company moved in - and which the distillery still hopes will return via an owl box near the entrance.
