Loch Lomond 1996/2022 Murray McDavid 25 Year Old is a Highland Single Grain Scotch Whisky matured in bourbon hogsheads with a rum finish and bottled at 55.9%.
The whisky was distilled in 1996 and spent 22 of its 25 years in bourbon hogsheads, before receiving a final finish in an SXG Diamond cask from the Guyanese Diamond rum distillery. Murray McDavid bottled the whisky in 2022 as part of its Mission Gold series, with only 391 bottles in total.
Tasting Notes
Nose
Exotic bouquet of pineapple, banana and mango, layered with vanilla, honey, sugarcane and a touch of oak and ginger.
Palate
Full-bodied and creamy, with waves of ripe tropical fruit, soft toffee, rum-soaked raisins and a hint of coconut.
Finish
Long, sweet finish with lingering tropical fruit and a warm rum tone.
