Named after the flightless bird that went extinct on Mauritius in the 1600s, this rum draws its calm from a minimum of 13 years ageing at a single estate under 175 years of distilling tradition.
Expert Description
Lazy Dodo XO Chronicles Grays Mauritius Island Single Estate Rom is a Mauritius Rum, a single estate rum aged a minimum of 13 years, bottled at 40%.
The rum comes from the Grays distillery, founded in 1848 in northern Mauritius, and carries the name Lazy Dodo as a tribute to the island's iconic, extinct bird, which could not fly and was therefore nicknamed "the lazy dodo". XO Chronicles is aged in French and American oak, including ex-cognac and ex-bourbon casks, where the best vintages are carefully selected and blended to achieve a balanced, well-structured whole.
The result is a fresh, generous rum, where citrus notes meet a powerful, spiced finish.
