Kirk & Sweeney Reserva Dominican Republic Rum 70 cl 40%

The seal on the Kirk and Sweeney bottles hides a little subtlety. The cork is sealed with a thin brass-colored band with the latitude and longitude coordinates 40°34' 57.62" - 73°19' 2.14". The coordinates lead to Jones Beach, which in the 1920s was used to smuggle rum into the United States. Some of the smuggled rum that came to the US from the Caribbean was carried by the boat Kirk and Sweeney.

The cork proudly holds the contents of the bottle. Pull it up and reveal a visual clue. The cork reads: "Kirk and Sweeney seized January 1924."
