Named after a smuggling schooner from Prohibition-era history that carried rum from the Caribbean to the northeastern United States, this Dominican rum is built on a solera-inspired blend of multiple ages.

    Expert Description

Kirk & Sweeney Gran Reserva Superior is a Dominican Republic Rum, a solera-inspired blend of multiple ages, bottled at 40%.

The Kirk & Sweeney brand is named after a famous wooden-rigged smuggling schooner that, during the early years of American Prohibition, carried rum from the Caribbean to the northeastern United States. The rum is distilled in Santiago de los Caballeros in the Dominican Republic and builds on a classic Dominican style, where several ages are blended to achieve a gentle, round character with deep mahogany colour and golden reflections.

The result is a full-bodied, complex rum that moves from fresh, sweet sensations to dried fruit and a well-balanced finish.
