A classic German Schwarzbier with a smoky twist from alder wood (Erle). Schlenkerla Erle is a dark bottom-fermented lager with notes of roasted malt, dark chocolate, and light coffee, rounded off with an elegant, smooth smokiness from the alder wood. As with all Schlenkerla beers, the smoke is subtle yet distinctive – here with a slightly sweeter and softer profile than their beechwood or cherrywood smoked varieties.
