The recipe dates back to 1863, when James Burrough, great grandfather of current chairman Christopher Hayman, laid the groundwork for what later became the world-renowned Beefeater Gin, and Hayman's still distils to the very same family recipe.
Expert's description
Hayman's London Dry Gin is an English London Dry Gin, bottled at 41.2%.
The gin is built on 10 classic botanicals: juniper, lemon, orange, cassia cinnamon, Ceylon cinnamon, nutmeg, angelica root, orris root, coriander seed and licorice root.
The botanicals are macerated for 24 hours for extra concentration, before the gin is distilled in three small copper pot stills.
The family recipe has been passed down through five generations and is distilled today just as it was over 150 years ago.
