Before it had a name, it had a mark: six bunches of grapes chalked onto the finest casks in Graham's lodge, singling out the wine destined for something better.
Expert's Description
Graham's Six Grapes Reserve is a Portuguese Reserve Ruby Port from the Douro Valley, matured in oak casks and bottled at 20% in a 20 cl miniature bottle.
The Port is a blend of several vintages, selected for their depth of fruit and colour and matured for longer than Graham's basic ruby style, without reaching the age of a true tawny. The style sits between young and old: darker and more concentrated than a basic ruby, but built to be enjoyed without decades of patience.
Graham's was founded in 1820 by brothers William and John Graham and has belonged to the Symington family's Port houses since 1970. Six Grapes takes its name from the six bunches of grapes historically chalked onto the finest casks in the lodge, marking the wine chosen for the house's best blend.

Did You Know?
The name Six Grapes comes from an old lodge tradition: tasters would mark the finest casks with six bunches of grapes drawn in chalk, singling out the wine destined for Graham's best blend. The mark eventually became the name of this reserve Port itself.
