Pure Madagascar vanilla in liquid form - sweet, creamy and a world away from artificial vanilla sugar.

    Expert's Description

Giffard's Vanilla de Madagascar Premium Liqueur is a French Herbal liqueur based on vanilla, bottled at 20% ABV.

Giffard is a French, family-owned liqueur house from Angers in the Loire Valley, founded in 1885 by the pharmacist and herbalist Émile Giffard, who invented a white mint liqueur with digestive properties. Its success led him to convert his pharmacy into a distillery, and today - five generations later - the house is still family-run, producing more than 60 fruit and herbal liqueurs for bartenders and cocktail enthusiasts around the world. The liqueur is part of the Giffard Premium Liqueurs range, ten top-quality liqueurs created to be the leading flavour in a cocktail, where the origin of each main ingredient is carefully selected and guaranteed. The liqueur is based on neutral grape alcohol, flavoured with extracts of Madagascan vanilla and sweetened with cane sugar.

    Taste

The nose is delicately sweet with a touch of alcohol that brings a fresh feel of pine and eucalyptus, alongside an earthy vanilla scent with notes of nutmeg and cream. The palate is sweet with a clear aroma of pure vanilla seeds, mild roasted and spicy notes, while the finish offers finely spiced vanilla, caramel, toasted hazelnuts and almonds, plus a hint of black tea.
