Giffard is a French family-owned liqueur house from Angers in the Loire Valley, founded in 1885 by the pharmacist and herbalist Émile Giffard, who invented a white mint liqueur with digestive properties. Its success led him to convert his pharmacy into a distillery, and today - five generations later - the house is still family-run, producing more than 60 fruit and herbal liqueurs and syrups for bartenders around the world. Orange Curacao differs from Triple Sec in its deeper, more caramel-like colour and a rounder, warmer flavour profile, achieved by using bitter orange peel in a slower maceration process.
