Fresh peppermint, grown and distilled the French way - Giffard's Creme de Menthe is the liqueur that set the entire house in motion back in 1885.
Expert's Description
Giffard's Creme de Menthe Liqueur is a French herbal liqueur at 21% ABV, made from peppermint leaves infused in alcohol, from the French liqueur house Giffard.
Giffard is a French, family-owned liqueur house from Angers in the Loire Valley, founded in 1885 by the pharmacist and herbalist Émile Giffard, who invented a white mint liqueur with digestive properties. Its success led him to convert his pharmacy into a distillery, and today - five generations later - the house is still family-run, producing more than 60 fruit and herbal liqueurs for bartenders and cocktail enthusiasts around the world. The Giffard Classic Liqueurs range is crafted with a focus on natural ingredients, authentic flavours and classic French craftsmanship, delivering a reliable and versatile base for any cocktail.
Taste
The nose is peppery and herbal, with clear notes of peppermint sweets and spice. The palate offers mint candy, fresh spearmint and a creamy sweetness that ties it all together. The finish is sweet, herbal and menthol-fresh, and lingers for a long time.

Did You Know?
Did you know that Giffard's very first product back in 1885 was a mint liqueur? Pharmacist Émile Giffard invented a white mint liqueur with digestive properties, and that success laid the foundation for the entire liqueur house. Today's Creme de Menthe is a direct descendant of that original product.
