Freshly brewed espresso captured in a bottle - dark, bittersweet and with a long, roasted finish.

    Expert's Description

Giffard's Cafe Liqueur is a French Coffee liqueur based on roasted coffee beans, bottled at 20% ABV.

Giffard is a French, family-owned liqueur house from Angers in the Loire Valley, founded in 1885 by the pharmacist and herbalist Émile Giffard, who invented a white mint liqueur with digestive properties. Its success led him to convert his pharmacy into a distillery, and today - five generations later - the house is still family-run, producing more than 60 fruit and herbal liqueurs for bartenders and cocktail enthusiasts around the world. This liqueur is part of the Giffard Classic Liqueurs range, crafted with a focus on natural ingredients, authentic flavours and classic French craftsmanship. The liqueur is made through traditional distillation with roasted coffee beans and pure French beet sugar, giving a deep, almost opaque coffee colour.

    Taste

The nose is intense with freshly roasted coffee beans, touched by walnut, chocolate and vanilla. The palate is velvety with bittersweet notes of freshly brewed espresso and dark cocoa, and the finish is long and lightly bitter with coffee and dark chocolate, plus a hint of spice.
