Single-origin Arabica from the mountains of Honduras, cold-brewed into a liqueur with cocoa, caramel and a long, clean coffee bitterness.

    Expert's Description

Giffard's Cafe du Honduras Premium Liqueur is a French Coffee liqueur based on single-origin Arabica coffee from Honduras, bottled at 25% ABV.

Giffard is a French, family-owned liqueur house from Angers in the Loire Valley, founded in 1885 by the pharmacist and herbalist Émile Giffard, who invented a white mint liqueur with digestive properties. Its success led him to convert his pharmacy into a distillery, and today - five generations later - the house is still family-run, producing more than 60 fruit and herbal liqueurs for bartenders and cocktail enthusiasts around the world. The liqueur is part of the Giffard Premium Liqueurs range, ten top-quality liqueurs created to be the leading flavour in a cocktail, where the origin of each main ingredient is carefully selected and guaranteed. The coffee comes from Fairtrade-certified farmers in the mountains of the Lenca region of Honduras, with varieties such as Catuai, Caturra, Typica and Bourbon. The beans are roasted in France by the artisan roaster Café Bonnac, then cold-macerated in neutral beet spirit to preserve the aromatic complexity.

    Taste

The taste is warm and generous with roasted coffee, notes of cocoa, caramel and vanilla, carried by a well-balanced sweetness and a clean, lingering coffee bitterness on the finish.
