Sun-ripened apricots from Roussillon, pressed into a liqueur with sweetness and tartness in perfect balance.

    Expert's Description

Giffard's Abricot de Roussillon Liqueur is a French Fruit liqueur based on apricot, bottled at 25% ABV.

Giffard is a French, family-owned liqueur house from Angers in the Loire Valley, founded in 1885 by the pharmacist and herbalist Émile Giffard, who invented a white mint liqueur with digestive properties. Its success led him to convert his pharmacy into a distillery, and today - five generations later - the house is still family-run, producing more than 60 fruit and herbal liqueurs for bartenders and cocktail enthusiasts around the world. The liqueur is part of the Giffard Premium Liqueurs range, ten top-quality liqueurs created to be the leading flavour in a cocktail, where the origin of each main ingredient is carefully selected and guaranteed. The liqueur is made through infusion of "Rouges du Roussillon" apricots, a French apricot variety chosen specifically for its quality and aroma.

    Taste

The colour is golden yellow with orange hues. The nose offers ripe apricot, subtle floral notes and a hint of almond, complemented by sweet spices such as vanilla and caramel on the finish. The palate is juicy apricot balanced between sweetness and natural tartness, with caramelised apricot leading the palate, followed by hints of almond and a crisp, tart finish like fresh apricot compote.
