Sun-baked apricot macerated into a round, brandy-like liqueur - classic French craftsmanship in its purest form.

    Expert's Description

Giffard's Abricot Brandy Liqueur is a French Fruit liqueur based on apricot, bottled at 25% ABV.

Giffard is a French, family-owned liqueur house from Angers in the Loire Valley, founded in 1885 by the pharmacist and herbalist Émile Giffard, who invented a white mint liqueur with digestive properties. Its success led him to convert his pharmacy into a distillery, and today - five generations later - the house is still family-run, producing more than 60 fruit and herbal liqueurs for bartenders and cocktail enthusiasts around the world. This liqueur is part of the Giffard Classic Liqueurs range, crafted with a focus on natural ingredients, authentic flavours and classic French craftsmanship. The base spirit is distilled from beet sugar and macerated with Rouge du Roussillon apricots, after which fresh apricot juice is added to give both sweetness and a natural tartness.

    Taste

The colour is golden yellow with orange hues. The nose is sweet with apricot and a light vegetal touch, sweet spices such as vanilla and caramel in the background, and aromas of sun-dried and poached apricots. The palate is round and smooth like a caramelised apricot compote, sweet and complex with initial notes of almond and ripe apricot, while the finish offers sweet spices and a green, herbal tone.
