KBS is the beer that taught a whole generation of beer lovers that patience really is a virtue - and that bourbon barrels and good coffee belong together.
Expert description of Founders Kentucky Breakfast Stout (KBS) The Original
Kentucky Breakfast Stout, better known as KBS, is a huge, powerful Imperial Stout at 12% from the American brewery Founders Brewing Co. The beer is brewed with premium chocolate and coffee, then aged in bourbon barrels that add bold notes of vanilla, cocoa and charred oak. The result is a luxurious, full-bodied drinking experience that radiates sophistication while honouring the brewery's craft beer roots.
Founders Brewing Co was founded in 1997 in Grand Rapids, Michigan, by Mike Stevens and Dave Engbers, and has since grown into one of America's most respected craft breweries - largely thanks to KBS, considered one of the most important beers in the American stout movement.
