Red wine fruitiness meets the stout's heavy malt profile. Red Wedding 2026 builds on a series that gets better every year.
Expert description of Fanø Bryghus Red Wedding 2026
Red Wedding 2026 at 12.8% builds on the classic Wedding series from Fanø Bryghus, while standing out clearly through its long ageing on used red wine barrels. From the first impression, the barrels' mark is obvious: a deep, dark aroma with both warmth and tart nuances, where the red wine's fruitiness meets the stout's heavy malt profile.
The taste opens with dark chocolate, roasted coffee beans and a light caramelised sweetness, quickly followed by red berries, cherry and blackcurrant from the red wine barrels. The combination of coffee and milk sugar gives the beer a soft, round sweetness, while the roasted malt acts as a solid, well-balanced foundation.
Fanø Bryghus is located on the West Jutland island of Fanø, where the North Sea and the island's raw nature are a clear part of the brewery's identity. The brewery makes everything from classic, golden lagers to barrel-aged specialties, and has won several awards for its craft.
