Red wine barrels, coffee and a full year in the quiet. Red Wedding 2023 proves an imperial stout can still be smooth.
Expert description of Fanø Bryghus Red Wedding 2023
Red Wedding 2023 is an Imperial Stout from Fanø Bryghus, brewed with coffee and lactose and aged on used red wine barrels for just over a year. Despite the high ABV, the beer is surprisingly smooth and easy to drink, with an aroma of coffee, chocolate, candied figs, wine, vanilla and oak.
Fanø Bryghus is located on the West Jutland island of Fanø, where the North Sea and the island's raw nature are a clear part of the brewery's identity. The brewery makes everything from classic, golden lagers to barrel-aged specialties, and has won several awards for its craft.
