Domaine Begude has made an amazingly cool climate wine. Chardonnay 11300 is Limoux's postcode, and puts a bold line under the fact that Begude makes terroirtro wine at an altitude of 340 meters - which gives cool clean wine.
The nose is tropical with peach, pineapple, a hint of herbs, yellow apples, honeydew melon and quince. The wine has a fine body, slightly spicy notes and a discreet barrel character (85% of the wine is cold fermented in steel tanks and 15% is aged in large 600 liter wooden barrels). Balanced, medium acidity with pineapple, pear, filipa apple, almonds and peach as primary notes.
