Daftmill Winter Batch Release 2006 is a rare Lowland Single Malt Scotch whisky with an alcohol strength of 46%. It was distilled on December 16, 2006 and bottled twelve years later in 2018. With only 1265 bottles available, this edition ranks among the more exclusive, sought-after by collectors and enthusiasts.

The whisky matured in five first-fill bourbon casks (cask no. 074–079/2006), giving it a balanced and complex character. The aroma offers warm notes of rhubarb compote, honey, citrus and pancakes with maple syrup. After a moment in the glass, fresh pears and crisp apples emerge. The taste is smooth and silky, featuring hints of vanilla, almond and citrus, complemented by a subtle waxy texture. The finish is long and spicy with touches of nutmeg, wood spice and sweet stone fruits.

Daftmill Distillery is a boutique, family-run whisky distillery located in the Fife region of Scotland. Founded in 2005 by brothers Francis and Ian Cuthbert, it operates alongside a working farm where they grow their own barley for production.

Specializing in Lowland Single Malt Scotch whisky, Daftmill produces a limited annual output of approximately 20,000 liters, making it one of the most exclusive whisky distilleries in Scotland. All water used comes from a private source on the property, and only homegrown barley is used, lending the whisky a distinct regional character.

Production takes place only in the summer and winter months, as the rest of the year is dedicated to farm duties. Although the first whisky was distilled in December 2005, Daftmill patiently waited until 2018 to release its inaugural bottling, underscoring a commitment to quality and maturation.
