The triangular bottle has become just as recognisable as what's inside it. Cointreau has stood on bar shelves worldwide for more than 150 years, and this 35 cl bottle is the perfect size to keep your supply of the classic topped up.

    Expert's description

Cointreau Liqueur is a French orange liqueur from Cointreau, made from sweet and bitter orange peel, at 40% alcohol.

Cointreau was founded in 1849 by Edouard Cointreau in Angers, France, and the recipe has remained largely unchanged ever since. Compared with many other orange liqueurs (triple sec), Cointreau has a lower sugar content and a stronger, more concentrated orange flavour, which has made it a staple behind the bar in classics such as the Margarita and Cosmopolitan. Find recipes with Cointreau on our blog here.

    Taste

The taste is dry and intense with orange, with a hint of sweetness and a light bitterness from the peel, giving a clean, crisp finish.
