Brooklyn Gin Small Batch is an American gin from Brooklyn, bottled at 40%.
The gin uses eleven botanicals, five of which are locally sourced citrus peels: lemon, lime, orange and clementine, hand-cut fresh rather than dried or frozen.
Alongside the citrus peels, lavender and cocoa nibs are used, giving the gin its characteristic round depth.
By avoiding dried citrus peel, which can produce dull and flat flavours, as well as artificial aromas, the distillery ensures a fresh, vivid citrus character in every batch.
Tasting notes
Nose
The nose offers bright fresh lime, sweet orange and lemon with a subtle floral hint of lavender and spice.
Palate
The palate opens citrus-forward and bright, followed by a clean, piney juniper core.
Finish
The finish is clean and slightly spicy, thanks to the hand-cracked juniper berries.
