Just six kilometres from the sea, mandarins and lemons grow thick around Silvio Carta's distillery. In summer, the scent of ripe citrus fills the whole valley, and it is exactly that scent the Carta family has captured in Aspide Spritz.

    Expert's Description

Aspide Spritz Silvio Carta is an Italian Aperitivo from Sardinia, bottled at 11% alcohol.

The aperitivo is created through careful infusions of Sardinian citrus and wild botanicals, harvested close to the Carta family's distillery, just a few kilometres from the sea. Aspide is designed to elevate the classic spritz and continues Silvio Carta's tradition, since the early 1950s, of turning the island's raw materials into wine, vermouth and aperitivi.

    Tasting Notes

    Nose

The aroma recalls a grove of mandarin trees heavy with ripe fruit, fresh and inviting.

    Palate

The palate is a burst of fresh citrus juice laced with delicate herbs, mostly dry in style.

    Finish

The finish brings a bitter note of blood orange zest that keeps the aperitivo fresh and light.
