The United Kingdom – and thus Scotland – has gained a new tourist attraction. On the wind-battered peninsula of Ardnamurchan in the far west of Scotland, the independent bottler Adelphi, with Alex Bruce at the forefront, has built a new distillery. The location is named Glenbeg and is beautifully situated overlooking the water in Glenmore Bay towards the island of Mull. The name, not surprisingly, is Ardnamurchan Distillery, and it is an impressive story in every way. From the conception of the idea to the realized project, seven years of focused work have passed. The distillery was ready for the grand opening in July 2014 and has since produced plenty of delightful raw spirit.
