    Appleton Estate 15 Year Black River Casks is a Jamaican Rum matured for a minimum of 15 years and bottled at 43%.

    The rum is an exclusive blend of rare, hand-selected pot still and column-distilled rums, all matured in Jamaica's tropical climate for at least 15 years. The name refers to the Black River, which runs through Appleton Estate's grounds in the parish of St. Elizabeth and has historically played a central role in the distillery's water supply and transportation.

    Tasting Notes

    Nose

    Toasted almond and hazelnut followed by orange peel, vanilla and hints of roasted coffee and molasses, with allspice and cloves and a restrained hogo character.

    Palate

    Rich molasses hits first, followed by clove-studded orange, cinnamon, almonds, apricot and plums, while brown sugar, orange curacao, guava and ginger add depth, supported by delicate fennel and coriander seed.

    Finish

    Long and pleasantly dry with leather, polished wood, caramel and shavings of dark chocolate.
