Angostura 7 Year is a Caribbean Rum from Trinidad, a blend of rums matured a minimum of 7 years, bottled at 40%.
The rum comes from House of Angostura, founded in Venezuela in 1824 and relocated to Trinidad in 1875. The 7 year expression is blended from rums that have each had at least 7 years of maturation before blending and bottling, giving a medium-bodied character with a drier, spicier structure than the house's younger releases and a distinct coffee and cocoa note.
Tasting notes
Nose
Vanilla and creamy caramel, with hints of honey and tropical fruit, plus chocolate, raisin and mocha coffee.
Palate
Full-bodied with maple syrup, vanilla, honey and caramel toffee, plus dry oak, mocha coffee and cinnamon spice.
Finish
Bittersweet caramel and dark bitter chocolate with mocha coffee, mild cinnamon and black pepper.
