Amrut Double Cask 2017 Release 3rd Edition Indian Single Malt Whisky is a Peated Indian Single Malt Whisky matured in bourbon cask #3189 and Port Pipe #2715 for 5 years, bottled at 46%.
The peated Scottish barley was distilled in May and March 2012 and bottled in June 2017 in just 1,050 bottles worldwide. The combination of the two cask types delivers a balance of sweet vanilla and coconut from the American oak and rich fruitiness from the port cask.
Tasting Notes
Nose
The nose is rich with sweetness of vanilla, coconut and a hint of peated malt.
Palate
The palate offers ripe red fruit, caramel and a peaty undertone that ties the two cask types together.
Finish
The finish is long with a fine balance between sweetness and smoke.
