    Item no.: 22227865479-1106-196667

Turm-Zero is Altes Schlosschen's answer to the still white wine without the percentages - a wine that does not try to be anything other than itself, just without the alcohol.

    Expert's Description

Altes Schlosschen Turm-Zero is an Alcohol-Free White Wine from Germany made from Kerner and Muscat with an alcohol content of under 0.5%. The wine is made by first fermenting the grapes into a regular white wine, after which the alcohol is gently removed to best preserve the grapes' natural aroma and character. The Kerner grape, a cross between Trollinger and Riesling developed in 1929, combined with the aromatic Muscat grape, together give a wine with clear fruitiness and a light, mineral undertone.

About Altes Schlößchen

Altes Schlößchen is a German winery whose name - 'the old little castle' - refers to a historic building linked to the estate's vineyards. The wines are made primarily from Riesling and other regional grape varieties using classic German methods, giving a crisp, elegant style with the freshness German white wine is known for. The name signals a sense of place that reaches further back than the winemaking itself - a small point of interest for anyone looking for German wine with a story behind the label.

History & Background

The name Altes Schlößchen points back to a historic building on the estate's land, which over time has given the place its identity. Many German wineries are named after exactly this kind of local landmark - castles, churches or old farmhouses - as a way of anchoring the production in an actual place rather than just a family name. That makes Altes Schlößchen one of those wineries where the name itself is a small history lesson, even though the details of the building's origin and age aren't part of the publicly available story of the house.

Production & Style

The wines are made mainly from Riesling and other regional grape varieties, grown following classic German methods.

Signature Style
