In the small coastal town of Akashi, closer to the sea than any other Japanese distillery, White Oak has brewed spirits since 1888 and whisky since 1919.

    Expert Description

Akashi Meisei is a Blended Japanese Whisky, bottled at 40%.

The whisky comes from Eigashima Shuzo, known under the White Oak whisky brand, which in 1919 became the first Japanese distillery to be licensed to make whisky - years before both Yamazaki and Yoichi. Meisei, meaning "fame" in Japanese, matures across a combination of bourbon, shochu and virgin oak casks.
